Max Payne 3 Reccomended System Requirements, WHAT!?

Thread Starter
I've Just been on a website www.game-debate.com and found this for Max Payne 3 systen requirements.

Max Payne 3 Max System Requirements

CPU: Intel i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ / AMD FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ

RAM: 16GB

GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB VRAM / AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB VRAM

DX: 11

I mean I was hoping to play this game maxed out and was really raelly looking foward to it but it doesnt look like I'll be able to now This has really annoyed me. I remember when Doom 3 was realsed it had a similar thing where to max the game out you needed hardware which wasnt even on the market at the time the game was out. Just thought I'd post this so I could find out what you guys think.

16GB of RAM?! this has got to be the most taxing game ever....
Don't sweat game-debate as it is not always reliable. Here is a thread from the Rockstar site itself

System Requirements

I'd say you are probably looking at High settings based on your setup , perhaps even max , since a lot of game developers post really high specs to cover their butts.

Oh god no! They reskinned GTA4!!!! D: D:D:D:

No but seriously. I just read that the game was gonna have tesselation so thats why the max requirements are so high. I'm sure you can run the game maxed without tesselation using an i5-2500k, Gtx550ti, and 4gb of ram.

This is how tesselation shortcutting works.
1. Create game for console using low quality models.
2. Blotch on tesselation all over the place at random (causing a 50% framerate drop)
3. Up the max requirements to the strongest pc's out there.
4. Ehrmahgawd its gawnabee gewd graffixxorrzzzzzz

Seriously, after looking at the PC screen shots posted on the link someone posted above, it looks like Unreal Tournament 3. Chances are it will be extremely unoptimized ala GTAIV.

No one preorder the game! Wait till theres a test dummy, and ask him if it runs nicely or not. Then decide to purchase the game.

Can't please everyone. Whine at companies for not utilizing current or upcoming technology, then whine for utilizing the extra power. It's not like it's the minimum requirements. Although I hope it's not like GTA4.

How will the consoles deal with this haha?

I actually forgot to mention that under the system requirements it says this.

Ok that sounds like some heavy ****. Let me break down what this is saying before every PC owner throws his arms in the air while saying, "Why do we even bother?"

The Max Payne 3 minimum system requirements basically look like a Console. The game is going to run on consoles so it is fair to say that with adjustment a five year old machine will probably be able to run this game.

I have changed the Max Payne 3 Recommended System Requirements to read Max Payne 3 Max System Requirements. As you may know these system components are the top hardware on the market at the moment. By adding these as plausible requirements the developers are basically saying Max Payne 3 will be able to make use of all hardware currently available. This means that PC owners will be able to adjust in game settings to a level that is best for their particular hardware. Remember BF3 everyone? Despite its huge requirements it scaled nicely and delivered most modern PC owners an experience that looks stunning with a few tweaks regardless of their rig.

On our Max Payne 3 game page we have added the GD Adjusted system requirements which represent a reasonably powerful PC that we feel will deliver a great Max Payne 3 gaming experience when the time comes.

But none of that crap makes me feel any better.
