Thanks Martin, I now appreciate every bit of info you deliver even more.
Did you ever "ask" for compensation when doing prototype testing?

Not in the past, I always turned down any offers. I have had a few offer hardware to test certain things, but I always turned it down. I am considering a change in prototype or private testing work in the future though as I do see it being a useful service to provide, but I haven't made a penny at that either. Prototype work is even worse than reviews because often times the products come in pretty rough condition sometimes used previously by their own in house folks and I can't even give away the old parts since they are prototypes. So no not in the past, but this is one area I am considering a change and get something for my time donated. With the reviews at least I get a retail product to play with and get to share my findings with my friends.

Prototype testing in the past has pretty much all for the benefit of the manufacturer and all I got is a pile of tedious work and a useless paperweight....that's gotta change if I'm going to do more of it. I'm not sure there but have been thinking of ways to make it available and worth my time.

Well I'm with you one that one. I wouldn't spend a second of my time on something I couldn't share, give or sell to compensate for the time I've invested. However, if the offer included cash, parts or some kind of return, then I'd be all over it.

Glad to have you around no matter the outcome. Wish I had the know how and the tools to do what you do!

Hrmm, this is turning into an interview more than a test & results thread... tongue.gif

I've ordered 5different fans and they are being shipped directly to Martin for some testing. He was kind enough to let me expand the list to include other fans I've been considering for an upcoming build. I would highly encourage anyone who find the test results useful to make a donation, which you can do directly on his website. Can't wait to see the results! thumb.gif
