i wish i had a noctua to test it against; that's actually one of my favorite air coolers. but i think, unless i had two of those silverstones strapped to the noctua that is ... that the modded zalman would smoke it.
i think the temps are totally acceptable. playing games for two hours or rendering hour long DV composites *never* get the temps near the 59 degree dual prime load. that's why i do dual prime ... i know if i can hit an ok temp with that then i'm good to go for my usual routines.
if you or anyone happens to have a spare noctua sitting around, send it to me and i'll do an official comparison then mail it back. not likely but just in case someone does ... i'll do it.
the cpu is running almost 1450ghz over it's stock speed ... is that not pretty decent for dualprime loads of 59 to 60? i'm new to the core2 duos so sort of naive aboue temps and percentile of overclock and what not. give me some examples so i can research other folks results ...
take it easy (and send me a noctua!)
