1090t overclock temp to high? - Page 2

I have a 1090t and the max temps listed for that processor is 62*C. I am running 24/7 at 3.8ghz 1.45v Folding@Home 100% processor usage at about 50*c.

sorry, what i meant was, from my experience, the difference between 4 and 4,2. things are much snappier. your temps are good and can get better with your plan with the fans. before disabling see if you can get it to 4.2 even without Priming and just do a test run. Run Linx to see how far your temps will go. Keep it under 62C. have fun and goodnite.

ok i have a quick question. i got my cpu at 4.2ghz now on 1.442 cpu voltage but it keeps crashing when i try to run 3d mark.06 cpu tests.Dose incressing the cpu/nb voltage count as a substatute for stabalize the system or do I have to just keep increesing the cpu offset voltage till it is stable?

Looking good. I think youve got one with the faulty core temp sensor because 38 is way too low for that speed. I would pay attention to the CPU temp reading which is the socket temp as read by the motherboard sensor. This temp is always higher than the core temp so as long as it stays in the 50's, youre doing fine.

Dont forget your case fans and dust filters. I cleaned out my dust filters tonight and bumped my exhaust fans up to medium speed from low speed and my temps under Prime95 dropped from 55C down to 53C. Not a huge deal but every little big counts. Think Ill try a couple fans on my Hyper for push/pull and see if I cant shave off another degree or two. Maybe I can get it down low enough to be able to run enough Vcore to get 4.1 stable....maybe even 4.2.

silly question but..how do i no my fans are running 100% allso i just passed 3dmark6 on the 2 cpu tests on a tepet loop of 3 without a crash.cpu temp idel 31c max 41c core temps idel 16c max 34c currently my volt is at 1.44 with my nb 2600 ht 2400... all other volts are on auto.apart from my ram witch is at 1.55

My exhaust fans are the stock Antec fans that came with my 300 case. Theyve got control switches that you can adjust. Other fans if theyre PWM, can be controlled thru the BIOS. It helps cause that extra 2C let me bump the NB voltage up 1 notch and kept my temps at 53C so I could now get a 3000 NB stable.

Those temps still look crazy low. Guess you couldve just got a great processor but I cant believe 41C is what youre getting under load. Weird.

Cut your HT down to below 2000. It doesnt really help anything and can add stability. Try to get your NB up as high as possible. 3000 is usually where most people top out and itll give a big bump in performance too. Phenom's really come to life with a big NB overclock. More so than the base clock even.

core is usually low , but do not go by core temp, keep your eye on the CPU temp, I try to stay below 55 during Prime95 Blend test, also I run blend for 1 to 3 hours..although I have tested at 12 and 24 hour runs too, but my current setup wont pass 12 hour

physics test in 06 is brutal on my system as well, you really need a stable OC setup to pass consistently

check my sig rig if your interested..... I list all my volts/specs/temps of a similar setup
