P8z77-V vs Rampage V gene

My friend is looking to upgrade from his bloomfield build. But he is torn between these 2 mobos at a similar price point. I would have told him to get the rampage gene but he has 2 massive gtx 570 triple slot each which might be a little tight and might cause one of them to heat up. which should he get?

I think you got the names wrong?

Its Maximus 5 Gene, Rampage is reserved for the enthusiast platform, aka X79. Maximus is for the mainstream platform the Z77 chipset.

The Maximus 5G ene cannot fit two triple slotted GPUs.

Ah sorry I meant maximus. Yeah I suspected it would't fit, so the p8z77-v is the best choice at the sub 200 pricepoint? Really a lot of room between the pci-e slots as well.

if you want asus then sure i guess it is the best asus at that price point, there are other manufacturer that give you the same stuff for a much better price, or give you more feature at that price point. but i am sure the P8Z77-V is a good board, I haven't used it though.
