Best 60/64GB SSD for me

Thread Starter
Hello OCN, Little by little Im updating my PC, now a 560Ti, next week my first SSD

the thing is...my mobo only have SATA II ports, this is my mobo:

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=1000&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=19&LanID=0#Socket AM3

I want a OS only SSD, so I think a 60/64 one wil be ok...

some questions

Whar are the best options at that capacity ?? (and cheapest)

More reliable SSD ?? (Im from ES, so no warranty here if I get the SSD from Amazon) so I need a very reliable SDD

if I use a Sata III SSD in my Sata II mobo...I know it will be a little slower than in a sata III port...but....I can "damage" the ssd if I use it in a Sata II port for like a year ??? I mean if I change my mobo later to a sata III one...the SSD will "recover" the true speed ??

thats all, please help !!

Save up a little more and get a Crucial M4 128GB imo, it's only 50 dollars more then the 64GB M4 on Amazon. They can be had really cheap right now and are reliable SSD's. You won't damage the drive using it on a SATA II port either, they're backwards compatible and still will be really fast.

i agree on the crucial M4 and if they will ship to ES, there is a good deal on 128Gb M4's for $129 as of yesterday but that deal said shipped with in the US only frown.gif ...

go crutial, samsung or intel- even if you dont have sata 6.0 i would still get a current gen m4 or 830 for reliablity reasons. you can not damage a sata6.0 (or 3) drive in a sata3.0(or2) port. they are backwards compatble. i
