that PSU is not going to work for that setup, not because it wont power a GTX480 (because it would with a molex > PCIe 8 pin adapter) but because it only has a 4 pin CPU power connector and you need and 8 pin for that board.

my recommendation is gtx480 for that price point but i dont know enough about the 7850 to say its not also a good choice.

as far as PSU goes, this one is cheaper, and probably better built. plus it has the proper connectors and a $20 rebate.

6950 will be $200 on Tuesday. Check slickdeals.

Do you think 7850 is worth $50 more than the 6950 2gb? Why or why not?

Definitely worth the premium: better overclocking, lower power consumption, more performance...

Go with the 7850.

Consumes very little power, only slightly slower then 480, and you can MADLY overclock it to pass 480 performance with nowhere near the power draw.

I don't have a gaming rig yet, but these are what I'm expecting to get:
CPU: Sandy Bridge i5 2400k @ 3.1 GHz
PSU: 500w
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68
RAM: 8 GB @1333 MHz

few change that really worth it :
get i5 2500k
get 650w minimum
get @1600 ram

for graphic card , gtx 560 ti , or 7850 ( wich I HIGHLY suggest )
