Weird CPU bus frequency

Thread Starter
Since this is CPU related I will post this here.

I bought a brand new laptop yesterday with A6-3420M APU. Planning to overclock it a little, downloaded the CPUZ and found out my cpu was idling at 700mhz. Looking at SS of A6-3400M, it idles at 800mhz.

Then I realized that the BUS frequency is set at 89mhz. 89x8=712mhz

I changed the battery setting to "high performance" and it shows 1500mhz as it should be for 3420M but the multiplier was set at 17.

Then I caught the turbo boost kicking in and it only went up to 2100mhz with x24 multiplier. it should be at 2400mhz! since A6-3420M is clocked at 1.5ghz and 2.4ghz for turbo.

What is going on here? Is it normal for bus frequency to be set at 89mhz? shouldnt it be at 100mhz? Is there a way to increase the bus speed?

Or is my CPUZ showing errors? Are there any other software to check the realtime frequency?

Use Revo to uninstall CPUz, then install it again.

Try AMD Overdrive, also.

But as for it showing a lower speed don't panic, it is probably a means of saving power,

not 100% sure but maybe it will reach 2.4Ghz when it is only needed on 1 or 2 cores.
