ugly card and overpriced - but they'll have no trouble clearing stock. as others mentioned, I really hope nvidia takes some steps to reduce mutli-GPU microstutering.

I actually think it looks quick slick compared to most ugly plastic shell cards out there. I wouldn't buy it, but it still looks nice.

Except most GPUs are actually available, not something no one will ever see.

You do realize that the only reason the supply of the GTX 680s is so rare is because Nvidia was holding the chips back to produce for the GTX 690, right? Expect availability of both cards to ramp up within the next 30 days.

I'm still waiting for you to actually post something relevant in any of the GTX 690 threads that isn't a complete show of AMD-fanboyism and a post full of "if if if assuming assuming assuming." May as well run to all the GTX 680 threads and start petitioning the GTX 680 SLI owners to return their 680s as well, "if" GK110 is coming out this year since they doled out $1k for their setups as well. Then you can tell the GTX 780 owners whenever that's released that you wouldn't want to pay whatever it cost to get one of those if the GTX 880 is going to be released 8-12 months from then. Better yet, screw it, just tell everyone to never upgrade, period. rolleyes.gif

Well this whole 680 shortage makes perfect sense now. It was either because they were using many of the chips for the 690, or they purposely kept supplies low so people looking for a 680 would have to wait and then when the 690 comes out they say "oh, a single card solution that's twice as powerful as the one I was waiting for. Might as well". Either way, I might pass too. 2 680s should keep me happy until the 780

Okay.

My personal opinion is that the card looks clunky and cheap. Happy now?

Something relevant? Whats to say? Its not like its anything special. All the talk about Dual GPUs is how close are they to Single GPUs SLi and how much they Cost. What else can u say other then whats in your head when me and u dont even have the card.

Admitting that you have nothing relevant to say and instead just spend your time trolling the GTX 690 threads and thread-crapping with AMD fanboyism is at least a good start, so I applaud you in that regard. thumb.gif

No need to give the run-around; you pretty much try to find whatever angle you can to either give the card that no one has yet a bad name, or make the card sound underwhelming, not worth it/too expensive, or push people from thinking about buying it by commenting on what *might* be released down the road. Yup, that's neither fanboyism or thread crapping.

Somehow I don't believe you on this one. There isn't another stock card out there that looks as sleek and powerful as the GTX 690. Period. I don't know of another card out there where the cooler is made out of more exotic materials than this one. Most of the time, the cooler cover is made of plastic, so I can't really see how any other stock cooling solution could even compare to that of the GTX 690's.

As for aftermarket coolers, that's a totally different ballgame.
