Until surround gaming and gaming at above 1080p becomes the norm, they can get away with that. You're talking about really only the top 3-5% of high-end PC gamers having an actual, legitimate need for more than 2GB of VRAM.

Besides, if Nvidia is able to fine-tune and optimize FXAA and other graphical enhancements, we won't have to worry about games needlessly eating VRAM just cause it's available (a la BF3).

I see 4GB

Only 2 gigs. SLI doesn't share memory. It's 2 2gb 680's on one PCB.

The price still seems unreasonable. It should be slightly cheaper due to less overall hardware, and lower performance than 2 actual cards.
In progress.

Yup, figured out and edited my post. I still kind of think the price looks ok, at least based on their claims. I am excited to see some non reference models though.

But on the positive side, from what has been reported, this isn't a cripple like the GTX590 so in some ways it could actually prove to be reasonable value.
Lets just hope they didn't skimp on the vrm's this time so that people can actually push these cards thumb.gif

This sounds about right. PC Case have huge markups and MSY is only about $20 cheaper.

If i get one, I'll be importing.

Are you going to let the other GPU fry, I don't think so!

http://www.evga.com/articles/00621/

There is an example of only needing to use one water block. It's on a 590, but you get the point.

Everybody has huge markups sadly

Best bet would be to try getting one through Amazon, but even then, most of the time they don't ship outside NA anyway

The amount of times I've gone to order something from Amazon only to be told "We don't ship to that location" drives me absolutely insane. Especially when you're talking about saving $100-$150 on a GPU alone let alone what you would save on an entire system. I hate Amazon for that, gets my hopes up then just crushes them mad.gif
