GSII, Lumia 900 or iPhone 4s? - Page 2

I would at the very least wait until the Galaxy Nexus III announcement next Thurs 3rd May 2012. Announcement takes place at 7pm BST, London if you're interested. Can be watched live through www.thenextgalaxy.com

At the very least I reckon the GS II price should drop ever so slightly with the release of the GS III. (Read circa. £50)

One X or wait for the GS III. I like ATT's One X since it's using the Snapdragon SOC with Krait cores.

it will be months if you want to sgs3 to be on rogers. go with the one x.
the nexus is outdated, the camera is below everage
htc one x or check and see if the galaxy note is too big or not,
its a hit or miss,
if you want the most fluid experience on android go one x.
if you want a unique phone that has the biggest screen estate, go for the note.

ofcourse theres the iPhone , but i sold mine couple days ago, Cuz its borning

I like the Note, but its not offered on Rogers right now... I think I'll go with the White Galaxy S2!
I've heard all the pros about this phone, but with any piece of technology there are some cons. Just wanted to know what they are. thumb.gif

Get the iphone 4s, why?

-best warranty/customer service in the business. defective phone? head to your nearest applestore and get your unit replaced on the spot if the geniuses cant fix it. not near an apple store? no problem, call ONE number.. no going through multiple support pages to find the right number *cough samsung cough

-it just works, no need to flash roms, custom kernals and all that crap to make your device work

-iCloud, seamless backup on your phone... android doesnt even have a "standard" backup solution. its either lol root then lol install titanium backup lol or use samsung kies LOL

-hands down the best selection of quality apps

The latest aokp rom based off cm9 and siyah 3.2b1 is amazing. Stomps anything I ever had including my jailbroken 4s. Can iPhone users watch YouTube HD on 3g yet? They couldn't a couple months ago. Jw.

as an owner of the 4S, all i can say is that this is an overkill........i don't know what the record is for the fastest facebook check in, but this thing is definitely more than anyone will ever need from a phone

Nobody NEEDS to flash the ROM to get their phone to work; of the three choices all are beyond stable for normal usage.

What do you need to backup to iCloud that isn't sync'd to the Google servers, or the Microsoft Skydrive? Google's cloud services are the "standard" backup service, your Gmail is on the servers, so are your contacts and so are your docs. One would assume you have a copy of your music on your desktop/laptop.

I think without any bias the advantages/disadvantages of each phone are:

iPhone

Pros
1. Screen quality is very good
2. Great build quality
3. Easy warranty support
4. Consistent UX
5. Fast and consistent software updates
6. Great camera
Cons
1. Glass is inherently fragile
2. Consistent UX does not allow for customization

GSII

Pros
1. Large screen
2. Android has a lot of third party development
3. Great camera
Cons
1. GSIII is coming out soon
2. Samsung takes ~6 months to update software

Lumia 900

Pros
1. Large screen
2. Consistent UX
3. Great build quality wihtout being fragile
4. LTE
Cons
1. Specs are lacking
2. Doesn't record in 1080p
3. ?? Windows Phone 8 Update ??
4. Low DPI screen

But as for the Lumia 900 as an HTC TITAN owner here, you can't really dog the specs, as it runs WinPho just fine. The OS is so lightweight and tuned that you won't really NEED dual core or quad or w/e. Although that will change with WP8 although it won't matter much still. But yes, not recording in 1080P is a bummer.
