Which is faster to encode videos (Sony Vegas) GTX 580 or 680?

Topic. The 680 is newer but I saw some benchies and they don't match up when it comes to encoding 1080p videos.

Well, transcoding on the 680 is definitely faster (http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-680-Video-Card-Review/1523/13; http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-geforce-gtx-680-asus-directcu-ii-top-review/8) and logic would dictate that it's the same for encoding compositions on Vegas.

Are you saying you've seen benches where the 580 is faster?

not sure if Vegas supports it but with the new Kepler architecture they introduced NVENC which is hardware-based acceleration.
in theory it should be faster if the application supports it; otherwise the 580's CUDA will be faster.

how do you explain 2500k with GTX560ti and 3770k with GTX 680?
