3570K, no reason choosing 2500K.

i plan to overclock it a bit, but i would rather see solid performance and good multi-tasking

i think i gave my opinion in another thread
i would go with the 2500k as i prefer the Tock chips..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Tick-Tock

unless you really need PCIe 3.0 i dont see much performance increase to warrant getting an Ivy bridge CPU over a sandy bridge plus sandies should come down
yeah you did and thanks again

heres what it boils down (from the data ive seen/ is avail.) sandys are amazing chips we know that from real time usage
Ivys are supposed to be slightly faster clock perclock (ex. 4.8ghz on ivy >or = to 5ghz on sandy) yet to be fully proven but from the changes thats the way its looking
ivy runs hotter
ivy has pci exp. 3.0
ivy uses a little less power
ivy has a better Igpu (but if your here are do you really not have a gpu tongue.gif)

here is my opinion take it or leave it when deciding ask your self this am I going to overclock and do i need pci exp. 3.0
if you do not need pci exp. 3.0 id say cool your jets for a little bit wait for some data and then if above is still the same enjoy your price dropped I5 2500k
unless you feel the need to be on the bleeding edge then well why are you even posting lol

i guess the main deciding factor for me will be how well the new Igpu is and how it compares to the older i5 2500k

If you can save $50 - $100 on the 2500k used then go with that. It's better $/performance.

Also, considering Ivy bridge runs much hotter it will also run much louder because it will activate your fan profile.
