(Newegg) Ivy Bridge CPU's Released!!! - Page 9

They both would have bulk purchasing agreements... Either MC's arrangement is sweeter or the CPUs are a loss-leader or close to it.

It's to get you in there and load you up on accessories, which is where all of the profit margin is. Cutting a quarter to make a buck, basically.

If only it wasn't a 400 mile round trip to the nearest Microcenter...
i would think newegg sells more processors since MC doesnt actually ship processors and there arent a huge amount of microcenter locations available. everytime ive gone to MC people have been eager to help but never tried to sell me anything like a typical salesman so i figure they must not be actually losing money or they would be working harder to make it tongue.gif

noob questions here? I need a i7 3770T for power saving. Can I underclock a 3770k to 2.5ghz and have it consume 45W as if it were a 3770T?

I would imagine so, you can almost always undervolt as well so maybe it could consume that 45 wat at slightly above 2.5 and still be stable.
