These temps sound about right for the resolution your playing at and the fan speed that your using.
I dont use the dynamic fan i use 2 settings,30% for idling around internet and 65% for gaming, i use the end and home buttons on the keyboard, try that and see what you think.

Thanks for the tip, I will try this when I get home.

Even at that resolution, just seems surprising the temps get that high, wouldn't think that game would be that demanding.

@Callandor - your temps are nromal like Vet said at your resolution.

Mine heavily overclocked on 1920x1080p 120 Hz hits the same temps 71C-72 with heavy OC and idle 30C-31C.

Welcome aboard OCN and the 690 club. smile.gif

Your set up is vey close to mine. wink.gif

Has anyone gone to water cooling on these yet? I know Koolance has Waterblocks available and over at Evga in the main 690 thread, Jacob from evga posted a picture of the Hydrocooper 690 and stated blocks will be available seperately.

I have never done water anything other that using a H100 on my CPU and I am taking a few weeks off of work to burn some vacation time and am really having an itch to go to water, but never done it before. Is Koolance a good brand? It seems they are the only ones that have blocks right now and just need some input. I will say upfront I am total noob at water so please have patience with me and my questions.

My thoughts are is going complete water for CPU and GPU's. I am looking at a bunch of stuff right now and think I have things that I would need. If you are running water, would 1 120mm radiator that supports 3 120mm fans be enough to water cool both CPU and 2 690's?

The only thing that has me scared is tearing apart the lovely 690's and adding the blocks to them because if I f'up, I am out alot of money...so any advice on how hard/easy it is to add a water block to a gpu would also be appreciated.

Considering the first throttling point is only at 70 degrees I would personally put one in. After doing that to my 580 (and the CPU) I would recommended it everytime - of course with the 500 series you can raise the volts while you're limited what you can do with this card..

Ok, I was getting insane temperatures (80-85 C) in Diablo 3 after upgrading to 301.42 so I decided to play with the nvidia control panel settings and ended up doing this

384

Now I'm getting around 45 C on both cores with 20-25% usage.
I have no idea what I have done as I haven't slept for the 48 hours but I thought I would share this and maybe someone will figure it out before I wake up smile.gif

LE: neeeevermind that, I am stupid and tired... I found what I have done: I enabled the VSYNC from the nvidia control panel.

Teah I had to play with my cpu I really had to do some tweaking but I git it to 4.9ghz.. ( much respect to those that can get it to 5.0ghz) I squeezed about 150 more points out....
