The Koolance Water Block looks pretty good once it is installed. I will get some pics of it up as soon as I can. Doing my 1st Water Build and taking it slow right now. Got the Waterblock on the 690 done, installed the top Rad, installed the CPU Block and of course gutted the system earlier to be ready for the new water stuff that came in earlier today.
I have to say, it was a bit of a pain to get all the thermal tape on everything that required it. There were 10 small chips, all the memory chips, the sli chip and then the 2 GPU's used thermal paste. What i found interesting is that the Koolance instructions has you putting thermal tape on all the stuff except the GPU's, but when I opened and removed the original shroud it looks like nvidia used thermal past on the small 10 chips, the sl chip and the GPU's.
I had done some reading and read that it does not hurt to put a dab of thermal paste on the chips and then add the thermal tape on top and another small dab to help with better heat transfer. The one thing I did learn being that I never done this before was that using thermal tape, you should cut pieces slightly smaller than the chip. Once you tighten down the screws for the block it compresses the tape and some of it pushes out, kind of like when you put too much peanut butter on bread and you put the other piece of bread you have a little PB oooze out the sides (lol).
I should be able to put some pics up in a few hours...just taking a break and watching the NBA game for a little bit.
