Frame rate Metering
Kepler introduces hardware based frame rate metering, a technology that helps to minimize stuttering. In SLI mode, two GPUs share the workload by operating on successive frames; one GPU works on the current frame while the other GPU works on the next frame. But because the workload of each frame is different, the two GPUs will complete their frames at different times. Sending the frames to the monitor at varying intervals can result in perceived stuttering.
The GeForce GTX 690 features a metering mechanism (similar to a traffic meter for a freeway entrance) to regulate the flow of frames. By monitoring and smoothing out any disparities in how frames are issued to the monitor, frame rates feel smoother and more consistent.

The GTX 690 uses hardware based frame metering for smooth, consistent frame rates across both GPUs. (In other words - say goodbye to micro-stuttering, which is *sometimes* perceived by *some* gamers in ALL multi-GPU setups, whether it's dual-GPU cards, or two/three/four single-GPUs in SLI).
Boils down to this dual GPU has the same amount of micro stutter, if any, as one GPU does. It's truly smooth as hell and haven't experienced micro stutter yet.

Even when the FPS is down to 30ish, still no microstuttering? This really needs to be implanted on all dual GPU cards..................

Shiloh,

Looking at the last picture, it looks like you are missing 2 power pins in the second power connector. Just a heads up!

Also the verdict with OCing is no gains other than the obvious temp and noise, until voltage is unlocked, if it ever is?
Anyone ordered the XSPC block too, they look really neat?

I have been too busy to do much work on the rig, but I always beleived and the user above that also has a waterblock has proven that the limitation is not due to the heat, but the fact that you cannot add any more voltage to OC higher. If it was possible, these cards would own big time. I am at +120 offset and dont crack 32c in heat. What Watercooling will do is allow you maximize the OC that could normally do on air, but not worry about having the 70c downclock because it will never hit 70c under water. For me, my old case had terrific air cooling and I rarely would hit 70c, but of course I had the cards fan almost at max and it does get a little noisy, so overall for me it was well worth going water.

Not sure, but I cant beleive this has not been posted yet, but EVGA released the 690 waterblock. Here is the link:

http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=400-CU-G690-B1&family=Accessories - Hardware&sw=4

Sells for $169.99 and even has a cool little light thing on the top of the card. I personally have the Koolance block. It looks good and my temps never exceeded 32c so far.
