Another thing that is different is I haven't heard 'limited' supplies on this dual GPU release like the 590 did. I'm heavily leaning toward the 690 as a learning experience as a first dual for me and I've not felt as confident as I do now than with the 690 it's time.

No gimping it down. In fact they took the more robust 5 power phase per side 10 total road and I see this being a good over clocking card.

Every dual-GPU card has always advertised the total amount of RAM as opposed to the useable/shared amount. This is fairly normal.
