I was the opposite. After having all three 3DFX Voodoo cards
I eneded up switching to AMD. It wasn't until the GTX 580 came out that I gave Nvidia & 3D Vision a shot.
Can't say anyone is perfect but the percentages of better drivers between the three seem to favor Nvidia from my experience. However with a little knowledge those driver issues can be remedied most of the time.
Nvidia feels a smoother ride at a higher cost due to R&D. Where AMD's (when it finally has competition) pricing is hard to beat for same performance and that's what makes them attractive.
