It's been really nice the past few days of cold in Arizona. My 690 that used to sit at 32C & 30C idle is now sitting at 29C & 27C idle. smile.gif The inside house ambient temps are 3C down during the winter months and it's reflecting on my GPU.

My single GTX 580 ran about 10C higher idle than my dual GTX 690. I'd say quite the architectural accomplishment IMO regardless where the credit is to be given.

My fan is running so quite I had to look underneath to check if it was still spinning. tongue.gif

Good to see you got it working. Looks great.

If you set it up like I said it'll run perfect. Nvidia surround has some issues like green screen flashing on flash videos and some other weird video playback issues and if running bezel correction on the desktop and then not in game your monitors will turn off and on in game when explosions happen but generally it's very solid overall. Much better than eyefinity at the moment. Eyefinity is good but Vsync is broken and pretty much ruins the whole experience.

Can anyone help me fix an issue I'm having with my games? The shadows in most games will flicker, and look really jaggity. They start tweaking out, and it's really noticeable when I run the heaven benchmark. Also really noticeable in bf3.

Clean install of Windows, and I think 306.xx drivers. (But at my pc right now) any tips will be appreciated. Thanks!

Is this problem only happening with the latest WHQL driver?

I remember having a similar problem with my previous 590 GTX and for me updating the drivers had worked.

You might have a clean install of Windows but maybe your driver is conflicting with something. Update to the latest beta driver 310 something. Let's see if the problem will happen again. 310 is also a very good driver. You won't regret.

I have been without a computer now for 6 days. I was getting rather high temps with mx-4, so I applied CL ultra and now I can't even turn it on because it instantly crashes from my cpu oc, at stock 3500mhZ it idles at 70c in a 60faren room.... gpu idles at 35-50c, have not even tried gaming. It is almost like I failed mounting so bad that there is no contact. I will order a pump top and tube res plus some tim since I will reassembling my loop again because it is impossible to mount waterblocks with tubing still on it properly, as I basically destroyed my loop. Meh...

its totally not the ultras fault if its only on the cpu but remember tht its electric conductive since its 100% metal.
u need to place the thermal compound differently than any other compound too btw, very thin layer on whole cpu.

fasten cooler it until u hear sqrews make sounds <3

My gpu is at 35c idle, before remounting I had 25c idle with mx-4 in a hotter room. I screwed it down all the way, both cpu and gpu, so it has to make contact.

After sticking it on though, I did move both around A LOT because it was difficult with tubing already on the block to mount, and I do think I applied the paste normally, since I did it on my delided cpu and nothing blew up, whatever will try to remount when I get new parts.

the ultra doesnt work if u move block to the side since then u need to reapply, its kinda **** like that.

like it hafto be direct and mount with 0 twisting or movement only down motion to cpu

Ya well that explains my failure temps. Idk if I suck at mounting but cpu backplates are horribly designed imo, and make it hard to install the wb with no twisting. The 690 seems better but it has thermal pads and a lot of screws which also make it hard, not mentioning the cl ultra being more slippery than mx-4.
