I think so, but it won't do anything for you. Need Windows 8 to enjoy the fast boot up.

So don't worry about another bios, what you have now is what you get.
Argh, you are telling me that I can't even get the voltage up to 1.21v which is a mimum increase capable on all 6 series GPU's.
That would suck..Been aiming to watercool the card so I can OC further when upping the volts/limits..

They did a really good job of locking it down on the 690, no ones been able to pull it off yet which is also why i sold my 690 lol

Guys, I need help. I recently bought a koolance gtx690 waterblock used from a fellow OCNer. However, it doesn't comes with thermal pads. I know that we need to apply certain thickness at certain place. I really dont know where or which thermal pads should I buy. Can someone help me out by showing diagram or something. Thank you. I would very much appreciate your help

Hi guys, I recently picked up an EVGA GTX 690 off a friend of mine, and thought I'd see about joining your club.

Here is a quick cell phone pic of my card right now:

Not the best pic, sorry, terrible lighting atm.  I'm planning on switching cases this weekend, so I'll try to take a proper pic later.

Here is a quick 3DMark11 run I just did at +130 on the core clock, no memory OC yet:  http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6856070

My CPU is also probably not 100% stable, and only running at 4.4ghz.

Any tips on airflow for just using the reference cooler?  I'll be moving my hardware into an old Arc Midi I have lying around so I can watercool my CPU, but funds (I already have the stuff for the CPU loop just sitting here), and rad space won't really allow for watercooling the GPU any time soon.  The arc midi has a side vent with a 140mm fan, and then two 140mm fans on the intake.  I was thinking intake on the side vent to get the reference fan some cool air from outside the case.

Right now the card gets up to ~82C when I don't have a custom fan profile setup, so I'm hoping to get that down slightly.

According to the manual http://koolance.com/files/products/manuals/manual_vid-nx690_d100eng.pdf some are 0.5mm and some are 1mm, depending where they go. This is the same as the EK block. I guess you have emailed Koolance to see if they can send you some new ones?
When I removed my reference cooler the original pads were mostly left intact as they are kinda like plasticine. If you are in the UK you could have them as they are no use to me, but then again they are cut in squares rather than strips like the manual.

One of THESE? http://www.frozencpu.com/products/3688/slf-08/AzenX_Blitztorm_System_Slot_Cooler_BT-SC70BBL.html?tl=g40c18s62&id=V3JMrFpb sucks external air in and directs it into the GPU fan.

Hmm, I was thinking more just along the lines of optimum air flow for the 690 cooler.  I have seen similar products in the past, but I don't really want to go that route, I'll just try experimenting with fan direction to see if I can lower temps a bit.  Thanks though!

I'll probably be forced to stick with Windows for the fan control / OC software anyway, so it's not a huge issue.
