Hello all, I have heard some bad things about the newer nvidia drivers in regards to gaming performance. I was just wondering what drivers would be best for my 690 for the best gaming experience?

The latest beta caused mine to crash so I went for 320.49 but again this has crashed a couple of times so maybe the 320.18 would be a good choice.

hey

so after 3 hours playing Crysis 3 my card died on me again. I realy dont know *** is going on becouse this is third gtx 690.

i was playing than, my screen goes black and than no more signal to display.

when i connect via integrated graphics I cant find my 690 in bios / nvflash so I guess its dead.

only reason i can think off some wrong batch of cards arrived to our country and I am just another and another cards from it frown.gif

PS: my last card before 690s was ASUS ROG Matrix 580 Platinum and I was fine with it for more than a 3 years. I wish I had some luck this gen cards...

Earlier you said "tested with one hour valley loop at HD preset:"

The obvious conclusion is that you are putting them through excessive stress tests that they can't handle or that you are damaging them in some other way without realising it. I suggest that when you get the next one you simply lay off the benchmarks and use it for normal purposes and then tell us what happens.

oh dont take me wrong. i have some ways how to check if my cards are stable enough and I think its not extreme at all

I test my overclock first with one valley BENCHMARK run

if passed I let it run for 1 hour

and than I consider it stable

ofc I let the card rest esp. during night - I am completly switching off my PC during sleep

and this card crashed after 2 h 45 min of crysis 3 so again not extreme at all

temps never reached above 85 C so no thermal problem either (at least on cores)

and to be fair: even if I let it run all day long (for example Unigine Valley) and if temps are good - card should handle it

well should isnt the right word. it MUST handle it - its a card for 1000 bucks !

I am not bricking it with furmark - I am just playing games

Are you sure have good PSU for this kind of GPU to power up? Normally, they don't burn like this.. frown.gif

But you said " becouse this is third gtx 690.". I'm not clear whether they have repaired the same card or whether it is a new one each time but if it is a new one I would think the odds against getting a duff card three times in a row must be huge?

Just picked up two GTX 690, gonna run quad sli in a new Z87 board. I plan on running both cards plus a dedicated physx card can't wait!
