overkill

@atheos: if I can give u advice and u still can return your 690s - do it. in these days I think its way better to go with 2x or 3x 780s or maybe 2x Titans. Quad SLI is not scalling so well and if you will play on something more than 1080p you will be bottlenecked in some games with 2GB VRAM. (yes it says on the box gtx 690 has 4 GB of VRAM but it is 2GB for each core - just dont want you to be mislead)

@PinzaC55: one card was MSI and other one is ASUS which was sent to RMA and even though ASUS said they replaced mine card for refurbished one, I still get the feeling its the same card but repaired smile.gif

@Virgis21: I have Corsair AX750 about 1 year old and I think its great and solid PSU...

but to be honest I am too starting to get a feeling that there is something wrong with my PC but I cant get my finger on it. Now I am on Intel HD graphics and all is smooth. I checked my PCI-E cables too and all is fine. Is there any software that can do some readings with VGA plugged in ? I mean like power / current / PCI-E slot draw etc.

Sounds like you have a bad power supply? Buy a new one from best buy and if that isn't the problem return it. Not having enough power can kill the card.

I'd have to agree with you on this. Here's my thing. firstly, I picked up both of these cards new for $1,300. so roughly about the same price as 2x 780's or 1 1/2 Titans, the Vram is a HUGE issue for me as I'm running on 5760 x 1080. Initially i weighed all my options, 2x 780's 3x 770's 1x Titan, but I ended up with the 2x 690's for two reasons,

The first, because for MY price they out performed 2x 780's 3x 770's and 2x Titan
and according to most benchmarks I've come across they perform better than 2 titans, and 2/3 780's at 5760 x 1080

They only are outperformed by 3x titans in almost every benchmark (for some strange reason) so that is the logic I went with.

Will this be very future proof? No probably not, but then again I plan on upgrading when the 800 or 900 series come out what ever they shall be named

I have often wondered what a GTX 690 + Physx card would be like. Will you be testing your system with and without the Physx card?

I will. I am extremely curious if there is any difference which in my experience with physx, there will be. I think there will be a major difference in games like Metro Last Light with and without physx, I'll post results as soon as I get em benched. Anything anyone else wants to see benched I'll be happy to.

I'm not a bencher, but I suppose I'll give it a shot

Hello, I'm having problem with watercooled GTX690 for being uneven temperature. Here is my thread:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1414243/weird-temperature-on-my-watercooled-gtx690
I decided to reseat the waterblock but am not sure how to do it properly. Some says there is a sequence to the order we tighten them . I just wanna make sure I do it right this time. I just can't afford the hassle for 3rd time sadsmiley.gif
