Possibly not surprising. When my 690 was still on air and I played Far Cry 3 I literally couldn't touch the EK backplate - it was hot enough to fry an egg. Now with H20 max temp is 45 degrees.

Heres my rig with water cooled GTX 690

Its a lot of work and you have to lose the "Geforce GTX" logo but its worth it.

I had a look at reviews of your case and you'd be good to go with a 240 rad on the top and a 240 or 200 (like mine) rad in the front and you would see a big benefit.

BTW anyone who hasn't yet downloaded Nvidia 326.41 driver should think long and hard whether you want it. I am on my second crash tonight, 3rd in two days and that is AFTER reinstalling. After I finish this post it gets uninstalled.

Video cards respond very well to water cooling. Great temps and great looks...would definitely recommend it.
Here's my current setup.

Sharing some work with 690 Hydro.

1) Overclocking the GPU remotely using MSI Afterburner - EVGA Precision did not work for me.
EVGA Precision uses Bluetooth. Could not get it to work or Samsung Galaxy tab. They don't have a iPad, iPhone version.
MSI Afterburner polls your network to look for broadcast. Could not get it work on iPhone or iPad, would crash. Worked on Samsung Galaxy tab.

MSI Afterburner settings while gaming in WoW and adjusting till stable:

2) EVGA LED Controller for the 690
the led on the evga 690 will glow based on setting . so if I set it to LED Breathing...it will count up and down.
If temperature; then the LED on the 690 will be kind of dim for me at 29C or at ~30%
