this week end i'll set up the "accelero extreme" for my lady and i'll tweak the bios to put 300% theshold for the PT:

once this done : if gpu is throlling back :

- u already set the max settings for Your Card can support u can't go futher that's a fact ... wait for 18 nm process0

the gtx 690 is a 8 + 2 phases vrm circuitry it can"t supply enough juice ....

- your PSU is too weak with "Amp's or your motherboard is to weak to supply sufficient current ---) Protection against OVC

look at GPU - Z : at the end of the list look at OCP / OVP protection if you are experiencing some issues with throlling, u should definately watch over the infos forwarded by gpu z like OV real, OCP, etc ....

man i hope u meant 1.225v smile.gif (if 2.225V than how did u do it ?)

anyways I am getting throttling on GPU1 also with all above 1.23v. I am using modded bios with PT 150%. is there any guide how to make bios with 300% ?

also is there any danger to use bios with 300 % if temps are cool ? I mean for example if I would play games with settings like this:

300% PT
+ 150 mhz core @ 1.25V
+ 500 mhz memory

and temps never go above 80C

can I somehow kill the card ?

thanks

I'd like to have some custom 690 backplates made. Can anybody point me toward someone doing them? I've heard dwood is not doing any right now.

it's always risky .... indeed it 's your choice : would you jeopardize the health of your GFX...

and if risk is minimal, the fact that it will shorten the lifetime your Videocard...

So it's worth it ? i can't answer that question but you definitely should ...

In my case ... i'm not concerned by the fact that my gtx 690 will run for 'only 4 or 5 years" before the first failure... instead of 8 or ten years. smile.gif

Hello guys I'm having a bit of a problem with my GTX 690 which I'm hoping you can help me out with.

Right about 4 months ago i started having really high temps on my card when playing any game really, even in DOTA 2 it sometimes reaches 80.

I ofc immediately got kinda concerned and started to find the problem but without any luck iv'e tried almost anything i can think of, reinstalling drivers clean install ofc, reinstalling MSI afterburner. I even dismounted all case fans including the two on my H80 on a push pull config and cleaned all of them it did give me a couple of degrees lower but not by much.

Then today while playing a game i noticed my GPU temps we're on the 89-91 (fan set to max in MSI afterburner) so started trying to locate some form of inconsistency.

Even though Multi-GPU config is set to maximize 3D performance it only used one core so i shut down the game and set it to disable multi GPU mode same performance and temps in game.

After no solution and a lot of googling i noticed that in MSI afterburner my GPU2 memory usage is always at max even though i'm idle in windows and GPU 1 is really low. So i once again tried disabling multi GPU mode and GPU2 memory usage fell to zero and GPU1 still stayed the same as before, I reapplied Multi GPU and GPU2 memory usage skyrocks to max while GPU1 stays the same .

Is my card faulty in some way? my idle temps in windows is 40 which is mind boggling considering that my fan is set to max in MSI afterburner.

Hope you guys can help me i'm at my wits end here.

driver's issues ?

try to run driver sweaper in troubleshooting mode under windows
make a clean fresh install of the WHQL drivers, 320.49 or 314.18 ...

maybe it will fix your issue.

the only thing i can tell you is i was also experiencing high temperatures> 95C for months (since feb 2013) under gaming, and drivers were faulty ( any driver between the 310 and the 320.49 version raise the temperature very high and i dont know why ... )

I"ve solved my problem installing the last beta 320.80 .

Wish it can help you.

That temps are really high, not normal i think, you have a lot of throttling issues for sure.... do you OC it?

I would change the TIM for sure...

Guys, I'm trying to flash my gtx690 with a modded bios just for higher power target so I can add more voltage via AB314.
However, I keep getting a hierarchy mismatch error when using nvflash. Even tried flashing the stock bios, still comes up with this error.
Also the PLX chip does not list when.using the command for nvflash.
What to do? Card is fully watercooled and currently doing 1202mhz max 48 degrees celsius, it can do so much more with some more juice.
