In my case ... i'm not concerned by the fact that my gtx 690 will run for 'only 4 or 5 years" before the first failure... instead of 8 or ten years. smile.gif

How would I go about getting changing and flashing my 690s BIOS's? Is there any guides available?

I can provide you the automated foolproof commands for the flashing. Its really easy and needs no user interaction besides pressing Enter at the end to close the CMD window.

Let me know if interested.

You are gaming at 1440p right? I am sure you will be fine but there might be rare occasions where you hit the vram wall. But again, I am sure 690 will be just fine.

That being said. At ultra levels with my previous 590 I used to hit vram wall rarely on a 120hz 1080p tn panel.

All of a sudden the FPS would lock itself to 40, not a tad more.

Yea I mean I know it helps I can turn off AA and such but Im wondering If a could get around 600 or more for the 690 and buy a a single 780 until I need two.

With all the power of the card if it hits the VRAM wall it pretty much negates the HP. Its like a Sports car in the snow...

Yeah I know how you feel. It was the only reason I sold my 590. I used to love that card but not the vram to be honest.

780 will give you less performance than the 690 though. You might not be happy unless you get 2 of them.

My OCed Titan at Ultra settings with 4xAA can handle BF3 just fine for example, but I am sure BF4 will benefit from a 2nd Titan to fully run the game at 1440p.
