Honestly on single monitor as long as you push more FPS than your refresh rate it's not over yet.

Guess it depends on the games you play. I kill FPS in BF3 even with dips. Crysis 3 maxed settings no AA is the only game I see dips a little below to about 51 FPS on my 1440p.

I think about another year 690 aka 680 SLI is going to be fine for those not ready to upgrade. Can always turn down settings and still stay relevant.

Only negative I see is pricing hasn't come down yet. It will mostly go out of production and fade away rather than price reduction is what Nvidia tends to do.

Mines is going into a second rig as I've said soon to power my 3D gaming on my 120 Hz system the kids use. I still enjoy a one time run through 3D vision on a new title release. smile.gif

I have 2 690's and am thinking i should not have bought the second one as the quad sli with the 690 is not all that great.I am thinking of taking one out and using the other in another build. What do you guys think and whats your opinion on the 2 /690's vs the 1/690

Yea, quad sli is really only good for synthetic benches. In a real world application, quad sli does terribly. The scaling is pathetic, and to boot: most games don't play nice with quad sli. The most I would ever go would be tri-sli.

I agree 100% with this statement.  @grassy I would take it out and use it in another build.

Hey guys, I'm wanting to unlock my bios (for 150% Power) but when I try to pull my BIOS with GPU-z (0.7.3) it will only do so for the 2nd gpu. for the first I get an error: BIOS reading not supported for this device. I'm kinda suck :-(

How do you extract/pull/etc the vBIOS with GPU-Z?

I can do my first GPU for you, (if i can) smile.gif

EDIT- Found it and can only do GPU2 as well, I guess that's how it's supposed to be?

Yeah, im not quite sure, as I can see that the EVGA hydrocopper has 2 roms (User uploaded it a few pages back. I'm just scared to use someone else's BIOS , don't want to brick my card.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will take the other one out and use the 1. I will start another build for my wife and she can have the other card. I really was expecting a little more from these cards considering the price i paid for them.
