I think the Bios is not the only problem. After the Geforce 590 GTX disaster, NVidia has integrated a voltage protection mechanism into the driver and locked the Voltage to 1,175V.
The MSI Afterburner overclocked directly the NCP 4206 controller and don´t use the Profiles over the driver, therefore the voltage is not read out correctly with tools like GPU-Z.
So I think there are two possibilities. You modifies the driver too, or you get the ASUS MARS 760 bios and modified it..

Probably could, but I doubt you'd be looking at any more than 30fps in most games.

Fair enough, I was way off.
If you had that though, why were you asking here?

becasue people telll to get a titan or gtx 780 and when i look at the graph the gtx 780 gets beat by the gtx 690

People keep talking bunch of nonsenses smile.gif Some of them pick VGA just by price (higher is better).
Actually I was looking around for my 690 replacement and went with 690 until 8xx is out. Because even GTX 780Ti is little under 690. And to buy 2 of them (780Ti) will be overpriced solution smile.gif So my choice is the same - 690 so far is the best for me.

I would say go with an R9 280X Crossfire setup, or go with a single R9 290.
A 280X Crossfire setup would beat out a GTX 690 by around 20fps-30fps in most games.

Or get an R9 290 with a non reference cooler when they come out and Crossfire somewhere down the line.

depends... at that resolution the VID_MEM comes into play
There is "only" 2x2GB available on the 690 - NOTE: 2x2GB is NOT the same a 4GB
Compare that to 760/770/780/Titan which have 3 / 4 / 6 GB available

So, at some point if the card needs to load/refresh a series of images each the size of 3GB, the 690 *might* struggle, while the 7x0 / Titan does not have that problem as there is enough RAM available to load the whole image "in one go"

However the speed comes into play also....2GB refreshed twice at 20ns can seem smoother compared to 4GB which refreshes at 40ns once.

The same rules apply to GDDR5 refresh rates as to "regular" DDR RAM... you get what you pay for.... There IS a reason why 690 & Titan retail around 1000, while a 770/780 is a lot less smile.gif Although the differences in GPU are a lot less as the differences that exists between RAM brands.... see also "why a CORSAIR 4GB stick costs more as a noname 16GB stick" smile.gif

I was going to sell my 690 but tbh im going to keep it, its still the fastest single slot gpu that you can buy and its 20 months old!
Legendary King is still at the top, only thing it will be worth selling for is the 790. Ill wait until then.
