Legendary King is still at the top, only thing it will be worth selling for is the 790. Ill wait until then.

I'm doing the same and waiting it out until the 790 comes out. I'm not going for anything less than an 8Gb version though.
If nVidia can do a 790 with two 780ti's inside and an 8Gb version for around £700, then I'm going for that.

I'm not I'm switching over to nVidia when they bring out their dual card 290x at 8Gb. Hoping they go nuts and put in 10GB or 12GB though.

Failing all that, I'll be going for dual R9 290's with non reference coolers, possibly bios modding them to 290x's and overclocking them. Wouldn't rock more than £600 by February.

unless a gtx 790 is 2 titans then u wont see a 790 over 3gig max, atm gtx 780'sand ti versions arent allowed more than 3gig of ram

Why aren't they allowed more than 3GB of ram while the 290 / 290x both have 4GB?

hi there guys,

ive been debating this issue for a couple of days now, and i would like ur feedback.

Currently, im using a ref 780, unlocked bios, to run a 1440p screen, i7 3820, 16gb ram. Recently, ive got a deal from a friend that he is willing to trade my 780 to his 690.

Is it a worthy trade to u guys? Just curious.

It's a worthy trade, but I'd keep the 780. Even though it's a little bit slower, it has 3gb of vram and you don't have to deal with sli issues. Games run smoother with a single card.

I had a 690, then switched to a Titan and like the Titan better.

I have both the 690 and Titan. For 1080p - 1440p, it's hard to beat 690's game play performance with any other single card from Nvidia. You should keep your 780 , as long as you plan to go sli in the future. The extra vram of 780 will only shine when you have extra horsepower of sli. I can live with less aa on 1440p which eats up VRAM, but not less fps. biggrin.gif
You should also keep your 780, if you are a bencher, as 780 can be unlocked with modded bios and volt unlock.
690 can be volt unlocked, but its of no use , as there isn't a hack yet to mod the bios.
I have never used a single card for gaming, except for the one in my sig rig, but that serves a different purpose.
So, I can't comment on sli vs single card gaming. I have always enjoyed the raw grunt of multiple cards ; perhaps I am less sensitive to sli issues. redface.gif

Because it will eat in Titan sales thats why. They could easily put 6gb on it.
