[Official] NVIDIA GTX 690 Owners Club - Page 557

I just got my second GTX 690 a couple of days ago. Quad SLI is interesting. It does very well in benchmarks, spotty in games. WoW sees some performance increase, MechWarrior Online is crushed by 2x 690's.

Hello guys, I'm new to the forum and was wondering about fan speeds..
My 690 does not go below 2880rpm no matter what. If I try to change it manually using SpeedFan, MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision X or whatever, the percentage changes accordingly, but RPM stays constant at 2880.

I have been in talks with the previous owner(s) - I bought it used - and both owners never thought about the noise, they actually assumed it was supposed to be that way. It really sounds like you're just outside an airport..

I've also spoken to Gigabyte, and the guy who finally responded to my email said that there are no ways to control the fan speed on these cards.
He is not aware of what he is saying, right? I've seen screenshots of Nvidia control panel, and that clearly shows a fan speed of 30% and RPM at 1140.

Oh yes, the guy who originally bought the card is "against having online accounts" (would you imagine!?) so he has a hard time finding te receipt for the 690 which he bought online... *sigh*

Any thoughts?

People with problems with quad sli...consider your PSU maybe not up to the job. These cards are heavy... I specced an 850w corsair for one of them.

WIth an E5-1650 @ 4.2GHz and Quad SLI I saw around 400w at the wall with my Kill-a-watt meter. I am using an EVGA G2 1000w PSU so I am probably good.
