do you think this will seal my thread on my cpu block tight? I really not sure about using this. I feel like maybe when it touches the water, it might taint it or idk.

Has anyone ever used it?

Comp fittings are leak proof, any mod you make to them will probably cause a ..you guessed it...leak. No need for the tape, they seal with a rubber o-ring. Just be sure to tighten everything and you will be ok.

As long as the o-ring gets compressed, no leaks

Parallel threads (the ones we are using) don't seal on the thread, they seal on the face. That is why there is an o-ring on the fitting.

Plumbers tape (PTFE tape) is used to help lubricate and seal tapered threads. It is of dubious value with parallel threads.

I would advise against using it, especially on a non-metal thread. The increased pressure it exerts on the thread can easily cause cracking in materials like acrylic.

Just ensure that your fittings are in good condition and are tightened properly, hand tight plus at most a quarter turn with a wrench, and you will be leak free.

Do not use tape or dope on a compression fitting.Ever.Take it from me.I am a journeyman pipefitter. It would cause a leak more than likely.
