SpeedFan - Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm setting a PWM fan to be 5% on SpeedFan which reduces the speed of the fan correctly, and I have it starting properly when I log into Windows but the fan speed changes back to 50% frown.gif

Is there a way to make it change to 5% when SpeedFan runs without me having to touch it? I'vew tried ot set it so that max speed is 5% but it's 50% no matter what until I change it. 50% happens to be what the motherboards setting is frown.gif

with my current experience with Speedfan, no there is no way to do it. if you have an ASUS mobo, use AI suite's fan control, if you have Gigabyte, then use their EasyTune software.

Make a fan profile that always keeps fan at 5 % and enable automatic fan control. Now your fan always goes to 5 % as soon as Speedfan starts.

It wasn't doing it like that, though frown.gif

I figured it out earlier. I had to set up a "Fan Controller" in the options for just that one fan, link it to the temps of the CPU and then set the fan curve to be super low to that it always stayed at about 5%. This worked ok eventually, also like you said, auto control

speedfan is awesome.

you can create fan profiles that look like the fan profile in rivatuner/afterburner. it's sort of a long process, but check out this site.

it's so awesome that i've got 3 different sensors controlling 1 fan.

I set "Auto fan speed" and in configuration I set "Speeds" to 75% for "Sysfan 2 Speed" and enabled "Fan Control" in configuration. What's the difference there in Method? There is "SUM of speeds" and "MAX of speeds".
