Geforce Experince - Pre set settings from the cloud

Basically it's a simple cloud service that will supposedly be able to take all aspects of your system and set game settings at the optimal level accordingly.

Sounds pretty cool but don't know how well it will work, especially since a lot of the community has overclocks on their hardware. Seems like that might be difficult to take into account since it will all have to be pre-setup in the first place. From the article it seems like it might be more useful for laptops.

Again nothing too crazy, cause this is a process that might save us 5 minutes or so when starting a game. But hey everything counts I guess.

For a casual gamer it makes sense, but it's not a service aimed at the OCN member base IMO.

Anything that can increase exposure of PC gaming is good IMO. Consoles have become the de facto gaming device for most people for the simplicity of buying once every 7 years for $500 and not have to upgrade between. PC gaming will always come at a high price considering our top of the line GPUs run for more than a brand new console, but if the "Geforce experience" can simplify setting up the graphic settings for the entry level gamer, it may be able to promote PC gaming to those that are otherwise frustrated.

That's an optimistic look at it, I don't expect it to do much for PC gaming and be forgotten quickly, but Nvidia threw it at the wall and is hoping it'll stick, and for the sake of the hobby, I hope it'll stick.

I figure if it works well then it should at least be a better place to start for games that don't have great default settings but you can't fully max. So even if you're overclocked this will give you a great start (hopefully) and then you just turn up one or two settings instead of having to trial and error a hlaf dozen or more settings.

This sounds kinda nifty, however I don't see how it's going to be possible for this service or whatever it is to set in-game settings automatically... all it's going to be able to do is set the NVCP settings for you. Given that in the large majority of cases the in-game settings are the most important and should be done first, reserving the NVCP settings for the occasional tweak or to enable something the engine supports but isn't exposed in-game ... my guess is that the practical utility is going to be fairly limited, and it may in fact create more issues than it solves.
