I wonder how custom games will turn out, WoL customs and HotS customs will be separated then?
That would really tear the custom community apart....

Blizzard had originally planned to bring out three games one representing each of the three classes in the game series. Me being a big SC fan i dont agree with how they are doing it, but from a company stand point it makes sense because they will make money. The COD series brings out the same game over and over again 5 times (i think they are up to 5 clones right?) and only reskinning. Before you fire back at me with "WELL THATS WHAT THE NEW SC IS" They also offer to the SC fans the continuing story (much more in depth then anything the COD series has brought to the table) as well as different gaming mechanics (playing as a single character rather then just the standard RTS mode), more story (ok so COD did this...but so did every single other game...) all new mulitplayer units there by CHANGING how someone might play a specific race or strat (COd has been the same garbage since MW1). Blizzard isnt going to milk this series, as it has taken them a very long time between SC1 and SC2 compared to COD where it has a game "planned" every year.
I found it pretty funny that you are actually agreeing to what I've said in almost every aspect and yet you call me an ignorant person because "well, blizzard does it better than COD!!!!!111"
When I made that statement, please note that in front of it I also stated the required condition for the statement to be true : No new units, some more story (it's different story for COD but you should get the idea), some new maps, some balance/UI changes.
And all you have done was to say in those brackets that (ok, COD has this too, but SC2 has it way better)
also, all new multiplayer units? what?
you gotta understand that it's the characteristics of WoL --> HotS I was talking about, not the quality of them.
By bringing new units to the table, this brings old players back and brings back the competition.[/b] The same strats that worked in the first game might not work in the next this is invoation making someone change how they play or do something they wouldnt normally do. You cant assume they are going to lose hardcore players with this expansion when it hasnt even come out yet, as many of the true fans are going to be wanting to play this out. They might even keep it so you can play the old expansion multiplayer and never even have to go to the new units of the newer game (I dont know if they are gonna do that, but it could be a good idea) there by keeping the "hardcore" players in the original.
@bold : That was essentially what I was talking about, so I don't even know what you were trying to argue.I know what will happen if new units are introduced to the game. That's why I think it's good to have them.
It might not be the best idea for pros cuz they need to get used to new things, but it's good for everybody else cuz we all get to play with shiny new things. This is what will bring back the already quited players who got bored with WoL and want to see how the new expansion is with the new stuff (I think you agreed on this too, didn't you)
Hell, when i made that COD statement, I said it just for fun because the structure of what new stuff would be bought to the table was actually similar. It didn't mean anything more than that. Was not trying to imply that SC2 was of the same quality of the COD rehashes. I'm a SC2 player and I'm having fun with it, don't know what you get all tensed up for.
