Be sure to videotape it... my money is your board will fry before the chip does.

These. Also, won't the cpu just hit its tjmax? Anyway, cpu's are solid only until you enter 1.7v zones.

hey dude you don't have to run P95 ..just go for max overclock and see what's max clock she can give you ,just run 32M or something ,go to bios disable power limit and go past 1.52v and don't stop until 1.6~1.7v

Source for that fact? It is interesting to see if you can hit the 1.45v+ phantom voltage-related degradation that people talk about.

Edit: By that, I mean keeping temps below TJmax and running up the voltage to see if the chip degrades below the 1.52v Intel cites as "in spec". Many people say that you should stay below 1.4-1.45v for 24/7 use, but I haven't seen any real data telling me that statement is actually valid...

There is a big contrast between degradation and destroying a chip...

Wasn't arguing with you, was just curious about what study you were referencing with the 1.7v comment

CPU's seem to be fine up until about 1.7v+

Hope you realize you run a a huge risk of killing your motherboard too if VRM's aren't in check.

Other than that, All the best. Though instead of killing the 2500k, other people would surely appreciate it wink.gif
