Question on Kits vs Single Sticks

Thread Starter
My question is if there really is a difference between buying a stick of memory over a kit of memory. Newegg has been sold out of the Samsung LP DDR3 8GB kit memory for what seems like forever and I currently get free shipping through them. So I noticed that they have the single 4GB sticks in stock and was going to buy two single sticks over the kit. I plan on overclocking them so the rated specs from manufacturer really doesn't apply. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Single Stick

Nope, just marketing, why sell them as individual sticks only when you can sell them as Dual, Triple and Quad channel bundles aswell?. tongue.gif

Arc Midi W/C. I'm done with AMD and just bought a 3570k a couple minutes ago. So sad that my rep is going to be too low to ease the pain from my wife after having another pc case sitting in the closet =\.

Seems I'm a bit late to the party but no there is no real world difference with kits vs single stick.
