No video, only audio in XBMC; help?

Hello. I wonder if some of you can help me with this.

Some video files in XBMC just show a black screen and only play the audio. This did not use to happen before 11.0 "Eden." It is not related to the type of the video file, since it happens to both my MKVs and AVIs. This is very unfortunate since I really like the rest of the new stuff in 11.0.

Do someone have any idea?

A little more detail might be of help:
  • Windows, OS X or Linux?
  • Hardware rendering (and with what extensions) or software rendering? (have you tried changing the different rendering options?)
  • Have you tried changing the resolution?
  • Does it work in window mode or does it fail in both windowed and full screen?
  • Have you tried different codec packs?

1. It is Windows.
2. I think it is hardware rendering, I haven't touched those settings so I guess whatever is default.
3. No, I haven't. Since the TV is 1080p I didn't think of that as an option.
4. Haven't tried that, I'll go do that.
5. I don't even know how to change codec packs, but again, it would be the default.

2. try changing to software rending. if that fixes it then it maybe a graphics card driver issue or DirectX problem
3. the point isn't to find a work around, it's to find the fault so you can fix it. wink.gif So go test it in windowed mode and If it works in windowed mode then that would eliminate codec issues as the fault
4. thank you smile.gif
5. There maybe an issue there, but I used XBMC on Linux so Windows users will have to advice if they've needed to update codecs for v11.
