Max performance from my rig?? - Page 5

Those temps are great man, but if you want them a touch lower than just take 12.5 or 25mV off and see what is stable there, if you lose 100MHz that's not a big deal, just make sure you re run a whole lot of prime95 to be sure you're stable at the lower voltage/speeds if you do decide to do that (I run 40 hours of prime blend). I run my CPU at 72C all day long and 75C isn't uncommon with it very rarely getting to 77C and I don't worry about it at all.

What Vcore are you using now?

Mine is my brand new only system as well biggrin.gif I'm getting temps of 64C (max core, avg 62C) flat out, which I can quite happily live with. A CPU is designed to crunch numbers; let it fly!

1.29v. Not too shabby imo.

I've checked HFM and I've never had a 6098 work unit so I can't tell you if it's good PPD or not tongue.gif

Once you get p6903 or 6904 you will get some big ppd. I'm getting 110-115K PPD with my 3930K at 4.8 using http://www.linuxforge.net/docs/crunching/fah-virtualbox.php

Sorry to hijack this thread with my question. redface.gif
I am in a similar situation with VB right now. I just set up my VB last night on my i7 980x and I noticed I ticked both -bigadv and -advmethods.

Is there any reason why I should untick "Enable Advmethods"?

Also, for the past 8 hours since I finish setting this up, I keep getting P6097 instead of P6903 or P6904. Is this normal?

You don't want to run bigadv and advmethods simultaneously because they are mutually exclusive, so in this case the advmethods is likely overriding the bigadv and not letting you get bigadv WUs and is instead giving you advanced SMP WUs. Remove advmethods and you'll notice that you should start getting bigadvs the next WU.

128K PPD at 4.7Ghz here using virtualbox on a 6904. My 4.8Ghz oc wasn't stable enough for a certain a3 WU (kept getting 0x101 and 0x124 bsod's) even with 5 voltage bumps ... Kind of stange since i tested it with 17h of prime95 blend (and i completed +25 other WU's). So switched to 4.7 with the same previous stable voltage to be sure I wouldn't get that while doing a bigadv.
