Asus CuII Gtx570 sli or gtx 680

So, heres my query, currently I am running dual Asus Gtx CUII 570s in sli. Would it be worth buying waterblocks for them and overclocking or just invest in a single gtx680. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I play BF3 and WoW every now and then.

With 570 SLi i'd wait for big kepler or another generation altogether unless your'e finding your self vRam limited.

yeah, vram limited for sure. It crashes every now and then in BF3 at 1920x1080 ultra settings. Just tonight it crashed at high settings. I had to lower my res. I do love these cards though. Fps is not an issue..vram for sure

That's something else. The game will work with what vRam you have. I'd try fixing the BF3 installation, which can be done by right clicking the BF icon in Origin... Or reinstall drivers.

I dont think its the GPU that's causing a crash, especially at that res. Have you tried playing on High settings if it crashes?

Not the GPU's causing the crash mate. I'd be keeping the SLI'd 570's for sure (what I have) as these will still be better than a single 680. Just my 2cents.gif

apologies, yes I have played at high setting. I have also done custom, everything high and lowered aa. Recently it crashed on me. wondering if it's a heat issue. I'm getting that "DIRECTX" warning. I can't remember how it goes. Maybe I should get water blocks for them?

Have you tried upping your voltage? BF3 is really good at finding instability in GPU overclocks. I've even seen cards at stock clocks/volts have to bump the voltage a bit due to instability.
