Prices will probably be high? Is to say an understatement?

Ergo you can conduct more current in a smaller space, and if gotten small enough, there could be a point where they'd fit under the MOSFET heatsink, further increasing their current limits thumb.gif
There's other more important things, that's for sure, but I think improvements on chokes are important enough thumb.gif
That gold plating thing looks like a gimmick. Not like the ferrite powder cores corrode anyway headscratch.gif

My point was more that there are other things that would bring substantially more benefit than very SLIGHTLY improved chokes (implying that this particular improvement is minimal and mostly cosmetic). Substantially improved anything would be wonderful.

At any rate, as I said, progress is progress - even if it is slow and incorrectly prioritized.

That's not the point of that quote. If you are making progress, for the sake of progress, it is pointless. If it doesn't improve anything it is a waste. As well as the fact there are better things to be working on. It's just and advertising bonus.

Gold price has been pretty much between $1600-1700 per troy ounce for a while now, but these (like anything that's gold plated) likely contain so little gold that we're paying as little as cents more for the gold content.

It is an interesting claim they are making, hopefully someone will test their boards that use this use to see if there is really a difference in power stability.
