I have a few problems with 12.04 I need help with, I am new to linux so here goes.

The headset input doesn't work on the front of my case but the microphone input does the microphone input doesn't work on the back of my case but the headset does. The cables are short but I do have a fix for this outside of linux...tongue.gif I'd like to fix this internally though.

Another problem I have is with editing the sources, it doesn't allow me to save says it's read only, I'm trying to remove a duplicate line I had when I installed spotify... If you can help with this that'd be great! biggrin.gif

I can't help with the sound, but have you tried editing the sources list as a super user?
can you remove the source from a program, such as synaptic?

install synaptic package manager. you should be able to edit sources from that, as you will sign as admin when you open it. when you have that, try to remove and reinstall your flash player.

Is sypnaptic pack manager like apt-get update?

synaptic is like a graphical front end, similar to the software center. I like it.
