[IGN] Half life 3 hint from IGN's twitter feed? - Page 9

The next big half life game has serious big expectations, it would not work as a multi platform game on the current joke of a consoles we now have. alot of the gamers are alot older now & dont care for gimmicks like portal gun. They wont waste their time. It has to be much more scary, darker & visually better than most top shooters on PC right now.

I'm not holding my breath, I believe the half life franchise is finished & was at its best with hl2.

It's been 4 years since episode 2, that's not very long for valve, it took them 6 years to develop Half-Life 2. What is most likely is that they have been doing a major overhaul of the Source engine, or building a new engine entirely, in preparation for HL3. Since it won't be an episode of HL2 now, it needs to set new graphical standards like Half-Life and Half-Life 2 before it.
Half-Life games have always been Valve's big tech demonstration games, that fully utilize their new engines, and I doubt that HL3 will be any different.

My thoughts exactly, they're probably more focused on their next engine. Hopefully CS2 comes along with HL3 thumb.gif
