That's pretty badass. I have a feeling that in a loop it would generally just stabilize at one temp and stay a single color, though. The dT in a loop between 'hot' and 'cold' elements is generally within 1C.

I have seen a lot of negative things on the net about Mayhems. Has something happened that I missed?

I have a bunch of measurements from my own loop that gave 3C across the rad, but I agree with you on the fact that it might not be enough to see a difference. The concept is pretty cool though thumb.gif

It's seems to be based on the assumption that dyes directly clog blocks, which seems to come from "there's some stuff in my block the same color as the dye - it must be the dye". There's an alternative theory, "The stuff clogging the block is something else - the dye will naturally color it", with Mayhems obviously supporting the second statement and claiming/offering to prove it by chemical analysis - upsetting the "experts" who've always supported the first statement but either cannot or will not commit to the cost of an independent chemical analysis of the "gunk". Chemical analysis vs. "It looks like the dye" appears to tip the balance towards Mayhem.

True story, the crap clogging peoples blocks is usually the talc(plasticizer) used to make pvc tubing soft and flexible. It leeches out of the tubing over time.

It's a side effect that every tubing has to deal with. It's white, so it takes on any color.

Could be interesting seeing the fluid get hotter in the loop and changing color while the computer is under high load. smile.gif

That does look awesome. Great work Mick!

It's funny, before you came out with the Aurora I was wondering if something along the same lines with a water / oil mix would work.

Then a few weeks ago I was thinking how cool a colour changing coolant would be.

You take dreams and make them real. thumb.gif

What kind of temperature range does the colour change take place over? Is it controlable with the mix? Can you pick the hot and cold colours?

Just interested, I understand if you can't / won't answer questions on a pre-release / in development product.
