There's some first class idiots on these forums. Perhaps i should change my avatar to a clown, maybe then people will take me more seriously?

What relevance does an avatar have to the content of someone posting? I've seen far more ridiculous avatars from even respected members. Doesn't make me judge them, in fact the/a avatar doesn't come into the equation. I tend to read the content of their posts before i make any form of judgement. I like to think of myself as not petty or shallow.

Also, i didn't buy Crysis 2, and never will. It smelt funny right from the word go. But you're right, i guess we should be thankful for slipping standards rather than simply not buy such titles or voice discontent.

This is different from a typical whiner or accusation of cheating - given the fact that the person is actually cheating yet accusing an innocent player of doing so in the first place. Then to top it off, nothing being done about it, despite plenty of proof. Funny i need to actually explain this, i guess people can't read either (or simply watch a video).

Didn't think i'd see OCN sink this low. Sometimes i need to remind myself that this isn't 4Chan, lol. It definitely correlates to the influx of new members we've seen recently.

The above link is of a thread on the Battlelog forums, long story short - it's video footage of an individual being accused of hacking, which is clearly not true. The twist is, the accuser is the one who is cheating, and uses hacks to gain the upper hand on the individual he accused.
Now and again, i come across similar threads such as this. A person posts video proof of an individual blatantly hacking, calling him out. Such a thread gets alot of attention, people "report" and nothing comes of it.
Heck, even the accused hacker joins the thread to boast - knowing full well that EA won't touch him.
This is why i'm finding it quite difficult to take this game seriously anymore. EA are letting it slip down the crapper because they're simply turning a blind eye to clear cheaters.
Anyone else feel like that just can't take this game seriously anymore?

Define "seriously"?

I think the most important thing is that I'm having fun while I'm playing the game.

Seriously, all this fuss about hackers and cheaters... It's unnecessary.
I mean, I also love playing BF3 and just like you I hate those cheaters, they kinda ruin my gameplay. I mean, if you're all alone and just about to get on the stairs where the major fight is happening, but you suddenly get shot by someone who's in an entirely different building, outside of your reach and his sight, well, what else can you do besides roll your eyes and sigh or roar out of frustration?
OK, you can report them and if there's an active admin around he'll kick them, and that gives me a bit satisfaction knowing it won't happen again this round (unless there's another cheater of course or the same cheater on another account if he's that rich or bored).

But all those threads about those cheaters... why can't people just vent their anger in-game (either by insulting the cheater, or by getting him banned from the server, or something else that satisfies you) instead of going here or on other non-BF3 related forums and cause all this fuss with their anger?

And to get back at the title: how can you take this game seriously?
Love the graphics, love the good things in BF3 which are many, and just... play the game like you would any shooter. smile.gif

It's not the game itself that's causing you to doubt if this game should be taken seriously, it's those cheaters.
OK, granted, maybe a little their staff team too for lack of support on this topic, but not the game itself.

OK, granted, maybe a little their staff team too for lack of support on this topic, but not the game itself.

BF3 is a decent game, and i do enjoy it, but cheaters really ruin the experience if you come across them. Thing is, it's mostly a multiplayer game, it's experience is centered around the BF community, and unfortunately if they consist of alot of cheaters, then well, it is going to make the game experience pretty...well, crap.

You could also take into account the bugs, but really, compared to several months ago i think they've made some good ground on that front. People complain about weapons now and suppression (at least from what i see) which i never really quite understood - suppression is a bit exaggerated sure but overall i think it's all within tolerable levels.

I also think the number of cheaters have gone down, maybe because of the amount of exposure many have gotten from various Battlelog threads and videos (so, in a way, the whining pays off) Nonetheless, i seldom see any real action from EA unless it's a stat wipe, which is a bit feeble at best. At least something like VAC gave an instant ban.

With something like Battlelog, there's really no excuse to not be able to detect cheaters.

The annoying part is that this hacker, Fizzledrone, was on less than 12 hours then my post right now. So, EA didn't even ban him despite him admitting cheating on Battlelog forums and being caught on video.

He said this:
Quote:
actually that score was from piloting attack heli w/ a gunner, who happened to be Call_Me_Smash.

i could care less to indulge in cheating, only thing that keeps me interested is attack heli.

whether you're cheating or not, tv missile aimbot is possible; mine works with tv missile also, but it's easier to spawn rape cheaters by just writing the memory for me to instant kill you

my only doubt is that you truly are not hacking. i have an enhanced hud that i write to through the d3d buffer and it reports two variables for me:

- a negation on whether any enemy tank is aiming at me or not
&
- pitch/yaw of all active tv missiles (including my own)

i can do this because of several reasons, tv missiles are their own entity which you can find the address for by simply enumerating through enemies for their current object; eg. tv missile object and the address for pitch/yaw can be found through simple elimination. for the tanks i perform a raycast from the barrel of all enemy tanks and if it's passing through a boundary of coordinates (being my general location) through negation this reports as "true"

after several hours of play with the tv missile I determined the maximum possible pitch/yaw to achieve and drew the variable as red if it exceeded this value. in certain moments of that game this value would jump exponentially because your aimbot caused it to make a sharp turn (whether you were firing at me or not). with the proper addresses you can rewrite the limit of the maximum pitch/yaw for any object you're traveling in.

the only time i started to mention it was when you started killing me because i was piloting during the time the number was spiking; i have no clue who your targets were though

if theres anything you could learn from this, it's to tell the truth. at least i have some principal

PS: i left a little bit after you did, and the only person that i was victimizing with the aimbot was you. i bet you can't say the same about having a single victim though heh. if you're going to cheat just expect me to be there spawn raping you time and time again

the claim that tv & rpg cannot be hacked: LOL!!

And all they did was remove the post. Personally, I'd want his EA account banned for hacking.
