You can but it sounds like you have some budget issue going around. Single card solution is indeed better solution (more balanced), but HD7850 CF is also a good option. This is because when you are ready to buy your second HD7850 it will be cheaper.

It is up to you. To pursue HD7950 switch to a lower end motherboard and lower end RAM.

Thank you

I have decided on the Fatal1ty z77 pro m (how is asrock)

so that saves me about 40$

also how is 7870 after oc vs 7850after oc

ive heard 7870 can reach 7950 levels?

thanks again!

Considering the cost where you live I'd go with the 7870, as others have recommended.

7870 is not a good OC. If you do get a good OC out of 7870 you can probably get idk 5% behind of 7950?

7850 on the other hand is a good OC. 7850 can easily attain 7870 performance and cost significantly less than 7870.

The HD 7950 OC edition at stock voltage can do 1 - 1.1 Ghz. With MSI Afterburner and extra voltage you can do 1.2 Ghz range. The HD 7870 comes out of the box with higher clocks but it has similar max clocks around 1.25 Ghz.

A comparison of HD 7950 (1150) vs HD 7870 (1200)

BF3 - 22% faster

The performance of HD 7950 wrt HD 7870 in the most demanding games will be 25 - 40% faster at max clocks. Do not even think of HD 7870. The HD 7950 OC is the better card. And go for a single card solution. Even if 7850 CF provides more performance its no match for a single GPU. The consistency of performance a single GPU is beyond reach for CF. For new games sometimes it takes a while before CF works at all, let alone run stable without issues. When you are spending so much, don't hesitate to spend an extra 50 dollars. get the HD 7950 OC. smile.gif
