Alienware has unveiled its refreshed M-series of gaming laptops with Intel Ivy Bridge processors.
It's what's on the inside that counts

On the outside these laptops look exactly the same as the previous generation but it's under the bonnet where the revamp has taken place. The M14x, M17x and M18x now come powered by Intel's third generation Core i processors named Ivy Bridge

And the ivy's start rolling out thumb.gif

No, I and a lot of other people would too. But they got to keep the costs down somehow, right?

man if they put the 660m in there with the ivy bridge it would warrant the price and get a better battery for it. Would probably buy another if they did it.

Agreed, if it had a 660m I'd probably buy it.

any know the difference between the 7970m or 680m and a a10 trinity only gpu!seems like the difference is so low not sure average user will bother with specialised gaming unit !(maybe 7970m is very far from the integrated solution on trinity?

You've got a GT 650M with GDDR5 incoming bud. tongue.gif That's around the level of a GTX 560M if not a bit higher. thumb.gif

Perfectly fine for a 14" notebook. tongue.gif

I'd like to see the M15x come back with a few better options and better pricing. tongue.gif

Probably a good thing, this will keep me from spending money to buy a new M11x.

Why? Nvidia hasn't even released high end kepler mobile parts. All of the 256 bit high end mobile parts are still fermi. 670, 680m are all Fermi based if i'm not mistaken, while all lower models are kepler and 128 bit - 660m is kepler based but is not as fast as 670,675, 680 (fermi based)
