Alright, so first of all, get the skin on your desktop by right-clicking any existing skin and clicking bar.ini (in my case as you can see it's already clicked and activated):

First of all, if you want to add your own icon (let's say I want to for Tribes Ascend), do the following:

Right-click, press Before Dawn bar.

Paste the icon you want in the Explorer window that you just opened (in our case you want a 64x64ish icon):

Once you do that, right-click anywhere on the skin and press Edit skin.

Scroll down until you see this:

What you see here is a meter of type IMAGE, with x and y relative and absolute coordinates, the image name, and a native parameter (of the event type) called LeftMouseDownAction.

Let's take this in piece by piece.

ImageName= is the name of the image used as the icon here.

x=65r means x=65 PLUS the X of the meter preceding this one.

LeftMouseDownAction= is what you want to happen when the event is captured.

!Execute is one of many "bangs" in Rainmeter. Other examples are !Refresh (which refreshes the skin) and !RefreshAll which refreshes all of the skins.

We want to change both the ImageName and the LeftMouseDownAction.

Changing the image name is easy, just check what name and filetype your image is, and change it to that:

Now we need to grab the path to our game. If it's a Steam game, right click the game in the Steam Library, Create Desktop Shortcut, right click that shortcut, and copy the path.

Otherwise just find the path to the exe.

Examples:

Grab the link to your game, and enter it like so:

Save the file, right-click and Refresh the skin, and try it out.

You may want to edit your icon to be centered in a 59x62 sized png since that'll look nicer.
