I love how we all expect BF3 to be this perfect work of art. There should be no bugs, no issues whatsoever. Well you know what, no matter how much you test and go over things nothing is ever perfect. Its created and coded by imperfect people and therefore will never be perfect.

Get off the hit detection, find a server that does not allow the MASS and dart combo and have fun. That's what games are for last time I checked.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Bach admits that Battlefield 3 could have seen a better launch. “Of course, three months before shipping, I would have loved to have said, screw it, let’s ship it six months later. But you can’t do that when you’re that close.” In a case such as this, he explains, “what we tried to do was make sure the game was good enough when we shipped it, and then post launch we have been updating it quite a bit, and also releasing these expansion packs, which also fix stuff in the game. There is definitely stuff I want to do better, but then again that’s why I always try to make things better.”
Reflecting on DICE’s experience with Battlefield 2 and comparing it to Battlefield 3, Bach mentions, “Battlefield 2 had the same cycle. When it was released people thought it was great. And then you had all the complaints. People still played it.” He continued, ”we patched BF2 several times. It wasn’t until 2.5 or something that people said, now it’s done. Now this is the game you should have shipped.”

Funny.... quality developers/publishers like Blizzard and Valve have no problem doing that. rolleyes.gif

Get off the hit detection, find a server that does not allow the MASS and dart combo and have fun. That's what games are for last time I checked.

This.

Battlefield games have never been perfect.

BF2 took about four years to have the famously unbalanced jets...balanced. Then there was the bunny hopping/dolphin diving that wasn't addressed for a long time. Grenade spam is still rife to this day. There were blatantly overpowered unlockable weapons. The commander basically spammed the message box (and your earhole) with messages every half a second.

BF2142 was more balanced, but still had its own problems.

Bad Company 2s server browser didn't even work the first time around. It was DICE's first time adding so many weapons to each class and the muititude of their patching concerned weapon balancing. They gave us free maps though.

Battlefield 3, easily THE most complicated Battlefield game they've ever developed and guess what? It has bugs, it has things that needs to be tweaked and patched. Such has been the case for basically every Battlefield, ever, let alone the most ambitions and complicated one yet.

What is worse in relation to how people are reacting, is that DICE has never shown as much dedication and constant support for a Battlefield game in their whole history as they have for Battlefield 3. Remember, it took four years for DICE to finally decide they were ready to patch things in BF2 that people were complaining about since day one.

Sure the game isn't perfect, but it was never going to be. If DICE were behaving how they were 5-6 years ago, I'd be worried, but so far they've been at least trying a lot more than they have in the past and they haven't yet stopped trying.

A lot of people don't seem to understand this. DICE is actually SUPPORTING THE GAME. They are actively patching it and fixing issues over time. That's excellent. There are lots of companies that don't provide so much post-sales support to their customer base, yet DICE is offering it in spades.

Just get over it and enjoy the game. Play on servers that don't allow exploits, and have fun.

i couldn't agree with you more pistol, there really is too much crying over a game, the game will never be what YOU want as a game but as more input is put in the devs can make the game closer to your ideal game. yes the game has glitches and bugs, name a game out there that came out perfect and continued support?

For everyone crying over VOIP... Imagine what it would be like, just think about it. The mic spam and non stop garbage spewing from peoples mouths. Profanity and insults. Make the admins work harder to kick people.

Also good servers have TS you can join so argument is invalid. Find a decent server and join their TS and stop crying over VOIP.

But Valve and Blizzard don't have pressure from their publisher (if I recall they mostly publish their own games?), who I'd also think would be negative about them delaying it. (EA)
