because, by default it can only park 3/4 cpu cores. the rest are hyperthreaded so it doesnt see them as cores in the registry.
just a guess.

Will I have a negative impact if I disable core parking, especially during idle?

I tried parked vs unparked and there are no differences except winrar and quickpar, nice performance boost working with archives, almost 40% with winrar benchmark so I'm keeping unparked

I've discovered another benefit with this. I use a 120Hz LCD monitor. I've had a problem with the refresh reducing on the desktop when it's been idle for a few minutes. To recover the 120Hz, I grab a window like IE and rapidly whip it around the screen (you can tell a big difference between 120Hz and 60Hz).

Since doing this tweak, I don't have this annoyance anymore biggrin.gif

Edit: nevermind, screen refresh is still sometimes downclocking... i have no idea how to prevent this, i've tried everything

May I suggest you do some reading? Threads issues through core parking were the big issue with BD rolleyes.gif

? Bulldozer has threads? ::Avatars Face::

Sorry but I don't really care for BD much and the hotfix can only do so much...
