Try Baking again?

Thread Starter
So I took my old 5770's out of my pc a few months back and replaced them with my current cards.Well they were working fine and even put one of them in my wifes pc.And the other boxed up and sold it to a friend.
Well it's not showing any video,So he mailed it back to me and I tried baking it at 385f for 9-10 minutes and still nothing.
Should I try baking it again?

So your essentialy (sp?) Pulling the xbox towel trick are we? Try every video port first off as you my just have a broken video port. Second, all your acomplishing is remelting the solder and hoping thats it all reseats perfectly. What is going to happen is even if you get it to work, it will break down again once that gpu gets back up to temp. I personaly would just buy a cheap card for $100-$150 dollars and replace it. If you do plan or replacing it, bake the hell out of it and bake some cookies at the same time, that way if your card does work, you will have a delicious reward for your acomplishments and the delightful smell of cookies every time you turn on the computer! And if it doesnt work, then you have some cookies to eat away your sorrows. Its a win win!!!!

Recipie for cookies: (T=table spoon tsp = tea spoon)
2 T plus 2 tsp butter at room temperature
2 T brown sugar
2 T granulated sugar
2 T egg, well beaten (beat 1 large egg in a small bowl; then measure out 2 T)
1/4 tsp vanilla
3/8 c flour scant
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/3 c mini chocolate chips

The best part is you should bake them the same amount of time as your card! 8-9 minutes!
Now make sure to turn the pan 180* half way through so both your cookies and graphics card get evenly baked across the entire pan. When the cookies are done, so is your card!

Let both the card and cookies rest for atleast 5 minutes as they will continue to cook when you pull the out of the oven. This will let the cookies cool down and stay together and let the solder on your card to harden back up.

Bon apitito!
